STOP COVID-19
Give Generously
Help developing countries fight COVID-19!
The coronavirus pandemic has crippled the global economy. Countries that were already struggling before the outbreak now face devastating consequences for years to come if we don’t act quickly. Only unity and robust financial support from wealthy nations to developing countries can bring about an equitable global economic recovery. The world is in danger of losing hard-won development progress on health, education, human rights, security, the environment and the elimination of poverty — millions of lives are at stake. But, it doesn’t have to be this way.
What Is Needed?
We are calling for:
The Group of 20 (G20) to generously contribute at least $1 trillion directly to the COVID-19 response fund and fulfill the overall collective pledge of $5 trillion to global recovery.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) to waive interest on loans to developing countries and forgive debt to the hardest hit and most economically disadvantaged nations.
The World Bank to fulfill its pledge of $160 billion in aid and move quickly to direct resources where they are urgently needed.
